Bushfire Volunteers is extremely pleased to announce that we have again partnered with our supportive colleagues at Western Power to deliver another round of direct grant funding for member brigades.

The Western Power Bushfire Volunteers Grants Program 2021 invites brigades to apply for funding to purchase important tools, services and other items that are not accessible via the State Government Emergency Services Levy (ESL) Local Government Grants Scheme or other readily available sources.

Bush Fire Brigades (or their Local Government on their behalf) should use the online form below to provide a list of any items they require and attach a photo/scan/screenshot of a quote for each by midnight 15 August 2021. Successful applications will be determined in context of all others, with priority given to many variables including need, value for money and community return.

Some items funded by previous grant programs include: water tanks and pumps, 4WD recovery tools, a snake handling course, mosquito defence, chain saws, drink coolers for fire trucks and thermal imaging cameras.

While every brigade should apply for anything they require without limit to number or value, it is likely that most successful grants will not exceed $2,500. However, brigades are strongly encouraged to list all items they require (even if the total far exceeds $2,500) as the association may have partnerships with retailers and service providers who are willing to subsidise costs and assist within the amount available via the grant.

Funds will be distributed to successful applicants by 31 October 2021.

For more information or any technical issues with the application form, please contact [email protected] or phone 1800 BF VOLS (1800 23 8657)

Some users have had technical problems and not been able to attach the quote documents to the form – but frustratingly, not all. If this happens for you, please submit your application without attachments and send the documents by email to [email protected] and we will manually link them to your submission.

Please note, this grant is only available to members located within Western Power’s service area.
