The Association of Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades (AVBFB) is very sad to learn of the passing of Ian Thompson, or Thommo as so many of our extended family new him. We offer our most sincere condolences to Ian’s family, colleagues and close friends.
As you can see in the embedded post from the Bedfordale Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade below, Ian was a Life Member of the Brigade and known by many who have volunteered alongside him in the past.
The ladies and gentlemen at Bedfordale have shared the following information about Thommo’s funeral for those who would like to join in honouring the amazing life and contribution of one of Western Australia’s true community gems:
Date: Friday 29th June
Location: Seasons Funerals, 1 Tulloch Way, Canning Vale
All past and current members are welcome to attend. Pall-bearers will be a selection of past and current brigade members that worked with Thommo and other brigade members will form as part of a guard of honour (brigade uniform is essential, including tie)
Following the service, everyone is welcome to attend Ian’s wake at the Bedfordale Bush Fire Brigade, 2 Waterwheel Road, Bedfordale.
Flowers are welcome or donations to the brigade in lieu.
Brigade members taking part in the guard of honour are requested to be present by 11.30am.
We have secured a 50 seater bus leaving the station at 10.50am sharp and returning after the service, please forward through any interests.
