Glen Forrest VBFB Capt Mark Jeans, Lieut Mick Hare, and FF Peter Talbot, along with AVBFB Zone Representative John Mangini to take photos, visited Bunnings in Midland to present certificates of appreciation to staff who assisted with the fundraising sausage sizzle on Australia day.
Capt Mark Jeans conveyed the brigades’ strong appreciation of their efforts, particularly on such a hot day this year with temperature reaching 42o. The effort raised a significant sum for the brigade which Capt Jeans said would go towards additional necessary and useful items for the benefit of members.
This is a great example of the corporate sector recognising the wonderful efforts of our emergency services volunteers, and showing that support in a meaningful way.
The Association of Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades joins with the Glen Forrest VBFB in expressing our appreciation to Bunnings and its staff for their support of bush fire volunteers.
