The following correspondence was received by the Association of Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades (AVBFB) this week and we are proud to be able to share it in the hope that our members can assist.
November 17th was a bad day for the Esperance Shire.
Sadly we lost a great local legend and friend along with 3 young souls that were working their way around our great country.
Many of you came down when called and provided support, either on the ground or as part of the AIIMS teams.
The Shire is now producing a book to help the community recover.
I was lucky enough to work with a few of you and see the camaraderie that follows such a sad event.
There was some great photos of trucks bogged and water bombing drops. While taking photos of the departing crews, then looking at them later with hands in some strange places that would be hard to explain to a bystander let alone in a court of law, but that’s just what we seem to do to unwind.
If you would like to submit something, please do.
Funny, sad, scary it’s all our story.
