A former Department of Fire and Emergency Services leader has joined the push for the Morrison Government to take greater action on climate change — and rethink the approach to the bushfire crisis.

Naomi Brown is a former Executive Director of Community Safety with DFES she’s among former state emergency service leader in Sydney for the Emergency Leaders For Climate Action summit.

She told Gareth Parker bushfire seasons have changed — and so the response has to change.

“The underlying is our use of fossil fuels, of what’s driving the climate change that’s what has to be tackled at a very high level.”
