While the majority of WA’s incredible 26,000 bush fire volunteers are based in the south west of the state and right now enjoying the cooler weather, spare a thought for the tireless crew at the Hedland Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade who have been constantly frustrated by what appears to be a series of intentionally lit fires during one of their high risk seasons.

We know the amazing women and men of the volunteer Bush Fire Service in our north face some very different challenges to those in the bottom-end of our great state, but sadly it seems, we all share the risk and recklessness of some individuals who engage in this stupid criminal activity.

So here’s a shout out and thank you to every one of our members north and south, with a special note of encouragement and support to those above the 26th right now. Stay safe and know that we have your back.
