Even though we think every one of the 26,000 incredible women and men who donate their time and skills to the community as part of WA’s largest emergency service are special, it might just be that some deserve a special mention every now and then.

Take for example, the long serving among us – those who are sometimes honoured by their Brigade with a Life Membership like Andrew Haselden from the amazing team at Kalamunda Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade.

As you can see in the Brigade’s Facebook post below, Tuesday night’s AGM took a moment to recognise Andrew’s 15 years of service to the Brigade, often in management roles and always active.

Congratulations Andrew and thanks to the team at Kalamunda VBFB for sharing the moment with the rest of us.

If your Brigade has some news you would like us to share with our stakeholders, please zip us an email with a photo or two attached to comms@avbfb.org.au and we would be happy to spread the cheer and kudos!

PS. We love that Andrew’s wife Alicia is in the photo with Andrew because without supportive family and friends, many of our invaluable Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade members simply couldn’t give as much as they do to serve and protect our community.
