Provide First Aid Training
Thursday 28th September 2017
12:00pm to 5:00pm

Friday 29th September 2017
9:00am to 5:00pm

Juniors and Cadets must attend both days to receive the qualification.
The Provide First Aid training course includes a cluster of three (3) Units of Competence which includes:
HLTAID001 – Provide CPR
HLTAID002 – Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID003 – Provide First Aid
Course content includes via theory and/or practical demonstration
- DRSABCD procedure
- Principles & legalities of First Aid
- Responding to an emergency
- Assessment for unconsciousness
- Moving the casualty
- CPR including use of a defibrillator (AED)
- Treatment of Illness
- Cardiac emergencies
- Bleeding and Wounds
- Dressings and bandages
- Hyperthermia & Hypothermia
- Burns and scalds
- Poisoning
- Reporting of accidents
- Spinal Injuries
- Bites, stings and envenomation
- Allergic Reactions and anaphylaxis
- Crush injuries
- Choking
- Diabetes
- Dislocations and fractures
- Drowning
- Eye and ear injuries
- Epilepsy and febrile convulsions
- Head, neck and spinal injuries
To nominate for this training cadets must
- Be 15 years of age or over and actively involved in emergency services volunteering;
- Be a registered junior or cadet member of a volunteer brigade, group or unit in Western Australia.
