The association is seeking expressions of interest from Lawyers to join a panel that can assist with occasional pro bono advice and other services.

As the peak body for Western Australia’s 550+ Bush Fire Brigades and their tens of thousands of volunteer members, we are regularly engaged with matters that have legal and/or political (but strictly non-partisan) elements.

After 28 years of volunteer management, the association, last year, hired its first ever full-time employee with the objective of increasing the number of breadth of member services. With the increase in our profile and output, we have also seen a corresponding growth in complexity and risk.

Thus, we would deeply appreciate the ability to seek occasional legal advice and support for a variety of issues we are confronting for the first time.

Unfortunately, we don’t yet have a strong or reliable income stream. Until that is achieved, we hope to assemble a panel/pool of supportive Lawyers who we can reach out to for pro bono help on a case-by-case basis.

While cash is tight for us right now, we can provide strong advertising and promotional opportunities in exchange for services rendered.
