The 26,000 or so members of WA’s Volunteer Bush Fire Service are simply amazing.
Not only do most of them give up hundreds of hours of their time to donate their diverse skills and knowledge to the protection of others, but there are some who have done it all their adult life.
Take Alan Brockman, John Chitty and Gordon Ashman for example. This week, as so many of WA’s 570+ Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades do every year, the invaluable team at the Bakers Hill Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade took a moment to acknowledge these gentlemen with Life Membership for all they have given to the Brigade and their community for what is collectively more than 100 years.
The Brigade also presented a number of other invaluable members with 5 and 10 year service medals during the wonderful ceremony.
A big thanks to Shire of Northam Councillor Cr Attila Mencshelyi for being present and supporting the incredible work of our amazing women and men.
